Registration Terms & Conditions

By registering for the Siemens STAR Global Conference (the “Conference”), the registering entity (“You” or the “Participant”) agree to be bound by these Siemens STAR Global Conference Registration Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). These Terms will apply to Participant’s employees, agents, consultants, directors, or any other persons attending the Conference and the Participant will be responsible for their compliance with these Terms.  The Conference is presented and organized by Computational Dynamics Limited (“CD-adapco”), a Siemens Business.

Registration Fee
The registration fee is listed on the Conference website. The fee to the Conference includes the activities and benefits expressly listed as part of the Conference package chosen by You. Anything not expressly listed as part of the chosen package, is not included in the registration fee and is the exclusive responsibility of the Participant, including but not limited to, travel costs and expenses and any accommodations not booked through CD-adapco. Prices are always presented as VAT/Tax exclusive.

Payments
Participant may choose to pay for registration online by credit card or by submitting a purchase order. By choosing to pay for Your registration online by credit card, you authorize CD-adapco to charge Your credit card the amount stated on the registration form and on the Conference website.  If you choose to pay for Your registration by submitting a purchase order, you must send Your purchase order to conference@cd-adapco.com and CD-adapco will invoice you in the amount stated on the registration form and on the Conference website.

Confirmation of Registration
A legally binding contract will be formed when You receive confirmation that Your registration has been processed and CD-adapco has received payment by credit card or a valid purchase order (whichever is applicable). CD-adapco will not be responsible if You fail to receive confirmation because You have supplied us with an incorrect e-mail or postal address. If You do not obtain a confirmation, please send an e-mail to conference@cd-adapco.com.

Cancellations
CD-adapco reserves the right to defer or cancel the Conference if there are insufficient bookings or conditions arising beyond our control. CD-adapco will reschedule the Conference to an alternative date and/or provide You with a full refund.
Cancellations by the Participant must be received in writing by email toconference@cd-adapco.com.

Refunds

Cancellation by the registrant will be subject to cancellation charges as follows:

  • Upon cancellation by email at least 60 days before the Conference, CD-adapco will refund Your Conference registration fee.
  • Upon cancellation by email at least 30 days before the Conference, CD-adapco will refund 50% of Your Conference registration fee.

After the dates indicated above, no other cancellations will be refunded.
If Your registration fee includes hotel stay fees, cancellation of Your hotel stay may be made through CD-adapco. Should You wish to cancel Your hotel stay through CD-adapco, and provided you have provided written notice to CD-adapco at least three business days before Your stay, we will refund the hotel stay fee portion of Your registration fee (subject to costs, fees, and penalties imposed by the hotel).

Changes
CD-adapco reserves the right to make changes to the published programme of the Conference (e.g. to timings or speakers if one or more of the advertised speakers is unable to attend, timing or content of activities, etc.).       

Privacy
CD-adapco may use, reproduce and/or transcribe the audio and/or video recording taken of the activities and events of the Conference, in whole or in part, in any form of media, (“Recordings”) for use in its marketing materials. CD-adapco is hereby granted permission to use Participant’s likeness (e.g., name, likeness, image, voice, quotes, biographical information, or any photograph, portrait, film, video, DVD, CD, digital image, audio recording, or other recording taken of you) in its Recordings (“Rights”).
Rights are granted to CD-adapco on a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable basis, to be used in any way deemed appropriate for its business. Participant will retain ownership of the intellectual property in its Likenesses. Participant will not receive any rights or ownership to CD-adapco' Recordings incorporating, in whole or in part, the Rights. CD-adapco reserves exclusive control over the content, formatting, presentation, and style of its Recordings. You hereby waive any and all moral rights, rights of publicity, privacy rights, and rights to sue CD-adapco for any violation of such rights, slander, libel, or other similar rights as a result of using the Rights.  

Rights in Material
All copyright and other rights in materials provided to You during or for the purposes of the Conference are the property of CD-adapco or its licensors. You are entitled to use such materials only for Your own personal use. You are not entitled to copy such materials (except as permitted by law) nor are You entitled to use or authorize others to use them for any commercial purposes.

Liability and Insurance
CD-adapco will not assume any responsibility whatsoever for any damage or injury to persons or property during the Conference. The participants are recommended to arrange their personal travel and health insurance.
CD-adapco shall have no liability for loss or damage to any of Your personal property except where this is due to the gross negligence of CD-adapco. CD-adapco will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or any loss of profits or loss of business (direct or indirect) suffered by you. CD-adapco' total liability in contract, tort (including but not limited to negligence), or otherwise shall not exceed the relevant registration fee paid.
Participant agrees to protect and hold harmless CD-adapco and venue facility from any and all claims for damages, injuries, etc., which may arise from Your participation or attendance of the Conference, and is not a result of CD-adapco' negligence or intentional misconduct. CD-adapco, the venue facility will not be responsible in any way for the safety of a Participant, his officers, agents, or employees, nor for the safety of any Participant from theft, fire, accident, or any other destructive cause.

Applicable Laws and Competence
The relationship between CD-adapco and the Participant will be exclusively governed and construed in accordance with the laws of New York without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. If no agreement can be reached, any dispute related to the commercial relation will be taken in charge by the exclusive competence of the New York jurisdiction.

Force Majeure

CD-adapco will not be liable for any default or delay in the performance of its obligations, to the extent that such default or delay is caused, directly or indirectly, by an event beyond the reasonable control of CD-adapco such as, but not limited to: fire, flood, earthquake, elements of nature, acts or regulations of government bodies, court orders, acts of war, terrorism, riots, civil disorders, rebellions or revolutions, strikes, lockouts or labour difficulties. Such event or circumstance giving rise to the default or delay is a Force Majeure Event.

These terms apply to all online registrations to the STAR Global Conference 2017. We recommend you to read these Registration Terms and Conditions on the CD-adapco website before submitting each booking, or write to CD-adapco to request a copy of the same.
